Year One In Review

It’s unbelievable to me that the first year of my law firm is quickly approaching - January 17th to be exact. I am so grateful for all of the support I have received from my friends, family and colleagues. I know that sounds cliche, but truly the referrals and recommendations has made my practice more successful than I could have imagined.

The two things that I think have been the best about my practice are my team and my office. First, my team. My assistant Anni-Ming Larson, with a background from the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic, is so kind and patient, organized, and manages my schedule like a rock star. Her sense of calm in the office is unique. We also have two law clerks, Olivia Basu, in her third year and final semester of law school and Victoria Cejka, in her second year, heading into her first full time summer at the office. They each have unique strengths and learn more each day while being motivated to advocate and work hard for our clients.

Second is sharing an office with Kogut & Wilson LLC. I love how we can each teach and support each other. My team has definitely had the benefit of their ability to balance work and fun, a skill that is well known that I do not have.

Also very cool has been my Lady Lawyer colleagues, most of whom have been opposing counsels and mentors and now good friends, as we all grow our practices together, supporting one another, by supporting one another, giving each other advice, and even lunch and learning.

While I will always enjoy the divorce work, my passion is definitely being appointed by the Court to represent children as a Child Representative or Guardian ad Litem, or working with high conflict families as a Parenting Coordinator.

I am excited to see how this next year unfolds. Please continue to consider me as a referral source and let us know how we can help you.
